The car must be pretty much built to use E85. With that percentage of alcohol in the fuel, the brass components in the carburetor will corrode and dissolve. You would have to do some extensive modification to the fuel system for your 1979 & 1977 to make them run on E85. At the age of the vehicle, it is probably not worth it.
Alcohol has a tendancy to corrode and dissolve brass components inside carburetor and fuel pumps. Newer vehicles use a lot of synthetic materials to tolerate fuels such as this.
a normal car with out modification can not run on E85, it has to be a flex fuel vehicle.

No They wont.A few years ago people experimented with gas-ahol and that car you have would run on that.E85 isnt the same as gasahol.
