Mike aka omzig asked: I feel it is pure greed of the station owner but that is my impression. Since E85 contains only 15% gasoline why would oil price has as much impact on E85 price as reg unleaded? Any rational reasons why other than profits for the owner?

First off, ethanol is not the answer – not even a short term answer – to our energy concerns. What we may not be presently paying at the pumps, we are now paying for EVERYTHING else – food and all other merchandise.
At the local stations, E85 is approximately 60 cents less than regular unleaded gasoline. If it’s the same price in your area, buy the regular gasoline – you’ll get better mileage.
besides the profits for the owner the only thing i can see is the price of fuel for the truck that is delivering the cost more and the owner is passing it on to you.
E85 is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. It is intended to help reduce our dependence on oil. The reason the price tracks is because of the gas component.
