Chlorophyll from plants. It’s renewable and nature has had millions of years to work the best system. Just copy nature and you can’t lose!

Actually there are two. First is Hydrogen, because it is cleaner, producing no greenhouse gases, only water.
But Methanol is ALSO a better choice, because it does not depend on vegetation high in sugars. It can use virtually ANY biomass, and therefore is more efficient and eco friendly. But it requires no petrolium based fertilizers, so the gov’t isn’t going to push it too hard.

I have to agree with Jake except that chlorophyl is not the actual fuel, not even in the plants themselves.

Methane made from plants would be that answer in that sense. But he is one the right track.

Methanol is a good answer, but hydrogen is not. It is far too difficult and is nothing but a big con game by the government.

Methane is 4/5 hyrdogen (CH4) and is easily converted to a liquid and highly useful form that avoids the many shortcomings of pure hyrdrogen.

Methanol or Nitro-Methane is the best answer I think.
