JORDAN D asked:

Hi I have a 2004 ford F-150 with a 5.4 V8 and i have been running fuel but its not made to run ?
it runs great on e85 even seems to have more power it well start
right up the coldest days. Now it gets 14 mpg and gas it got 15
mpg so not a big deal the e85 is 50 cents cheeper then gas here and even if e85 was the same cost as gas I would rather give my to our would’nt you too?gas has had 10% in it sines the 1970 and sines then car makers have had to make the car so that is NOT corrosive on none of the engine parts now what I need to know is what will or can this do to my engine
and why is the check engine light is on??? and are those ethanol conversion systems needed to run e85 or am I wasting $399 dollars???

DO NOT RUN E-85 IN A NON E-85 VEHICLE. Also, you wrong. E-85 is more corrosive and can ruin the fuel lines in your vehicle. I too would rather give my money to the farmers, but i like my vehicles to run also. Your check engine light is most likely because of this.

    Jordan,
Your check engine light is on because you are running lean. You need your injectors to add more fuel. The kits out there, which are cheaper than the price of $399 by almost half, increases the fuel supplied by the injectors. Without a kit you can run about a 40% mix. After that a kit will allow you to run E85 without your vehicle running lean and with no check engine light. White Lightning has kits at $199 for a 4Cyl by the way

You need to stop before you F!@# everything up. You Def need the conversion. The e85 makes the computer think your car is running lean which makes the check engine light come on.. It will lead to engine problems, such as wear and problems to the catalytic converter. Saving some bucks is tempting but it is not worth it unless you get the conversion or drive a vehicle that accepts e85
