Drilling, willy-nilly is not the answer. Obama’s plan is at least more comprehensive, though it is truly sad that folks have politicized this issue without having any true knowledge of the hydrocarbon potential.
before we begin any true discussions, I think geophysical surveys of the areas in question are warranted. Present estimates indicate there is not enough hydrocarbon to make much of a difference.
But more importantly, is it wise to exploit and consume our last dwindling resources, or would a more prudent measure be to utilize these sources in the most pro-longed fashion?
OK, let’s get this straight. The making fun of the tire pressure is completely warranted! It’s funny because everyone knows that your tires should be properly inflated. How many people do you know drive around with flat tires!? It’s funny because it’s not a policy as it much as it is a no kidding! And for him to say we could save “probably…maybe” the same amount of oil we would get from drilling IF everyone in America drove around with properly inflated tires. Assuming ALL of these people are currently driving around in under-inflated the tires. Even that’s a maybe. In Obama’s own words “probably…maybe”.
Obama assumes that everyone and everything will be able to convert immediately over to the new technologies. That’s ridiculouos. Try running a jet on battery power. The key is to use the oil as a bridge to alternative energy. We need to do EVERYTHING including conservation to resolve this issue

Obizzle fa shizzle.
You’re missing a lot. Obama is also pushing for higher efficiency and personal responsibility towards conserving energy.
McCain, having mocked Obama’s tire pressure comments, has backed off and agreed that he was correct.
McCain has been all over this, Obama still doesn’t get it, along with the rest of the democrats.
