Karen W asked: I’ve checked a few web sites but haven’t found an answer. Also wondering if you can switch back and forth between regular
unleaded fuel and
E85…can they be mixed in the same
tank or should it be on empty before you refill?

do a E85 search on the web. You know google it.
Most manufactures put a sign or label inside the gas fuel door. Chances are a 2001 Saturn is not as it was a $250 option and most people did not have E-85 available at that time.
Look under the fuel filler door. It will say if it can use E85. If it doesn’t say so, you can’t use it, nor can you convert it to use E85. Vehicles designed to run on E85 are flex-fuel vehicles. They will run fine on any gas/ethanol mix up to 85% ethanonol with no modifications required. Just fill up and go.
E85 is 85% ethanol and 15% gas. Most cars will run on it, but they will not have the same performance. (Gas mileage and power most notably)
If you are serious about switching, I believe there is a modification that is need to be done to your cars fuel system. This will help with the performance problems. Remember that E85 might not be available all over the country. It isn’t anywhere near me, or I would use it.
I do applaud you for considering it. Ask you Saturn dealer also about switching.
Contact the dealer and speak to the dealer principal. They should be able to tell you. or see this web site..
the cars that are compatiable have the flex logo on the back. currently gm and ford make them here in america
