    1. Place 4 ml of the stock solution in a medium test tube.
    2. Add approximately 1 ml of the distilled, unknown compound to the test tube.
    3. Warm the mixture for 5 – 10 minutes in a warm water bath.
    4. Slowly cool the mixture to room temperature (10 – 15 minutes) to begin crystallization. Then place in an ice bath until crystallization is complete.
    5. Isolate the solid product using suction filtration utilizing a Buchner funnel. It is important the filter paper fits the funnel exactly, otherwise product will be lost.
    6. Wash the solid product, while in the Buchner funnel, with 2 – 3 ml of ice cold water.
    7. Collect and dry the product.
    8. Transfer the product to a small test tube and recrystallize it from boiling ethanol.
    9. Cool slowly to room temperature, then place in an ice bath.
    10. Isolate the solid via suction filtration. Wash the product with 1 ml of ice cold ethanol. Wash by dropwise addition of the cold ethanol.
    11. Collect the product, and dry

    Try this
