How can I find out what volume of pure halogenoalkane can dissolve into ethanol?

Say I have Bromobutane and I wish to dissolve it into the solvent, ethanol. Is the proportion of liquids 50:50, a trial and error method or another way to find out?

Trial and error is best, because you won’t be able to find this information in literature – all you can find out is that they dissolve in each other, but not the specific proportions.

You can mix relatively small volumes like 0.5 of mL of each to see if they form layers or mix completely.
