With the cost of gas going up is it worth buying a flex fuel car. Or even know e85 cost less per gallon is it true that it burns up alot faster or is that not true??
You would also need to break out a calculator to see if E85 would really be saving you money. If your vehicle is rated 30 mpg on the highway with gas, it will only get maybe 80% of that with flex fuel. Instead of 30 you may get like 25mpg. If flex fuel in your part of the country is say 50 cents cheaper, you would need to spin the nuimbers to see if you are really saving anything.
On new cars stickers with fuel info, many state how far you can expect to go with a full tank of gas with real fuel and with E85, so if you are expecting the same performance from E85 as the real gas you need to look into this a bit closer.
Good Luck!

With E85, you get less MPG, but you pay much less than conventional gas.

No it’s not worth it unless a gas station that has it is near you. Less than 10% of gas stations carry E85.
