Fey Wind asked: I’ve been told that my truck, a 2000
Ford Ranger, is able to use
ethanol gas, and I’ve been using that E10 gas in it for a while now. Not too long ago, for the first time, I pulled into a gas station and saw a whole bunch of other types of gas that I’d never seen before. (I usually always go to the same couple of places.) Is my truck able to take these “flex fuels” too?
If I need to give more information, please tell me where I would look to find it. ^_^

Your truck is NOT a flex fuel vehicle and was designed to run on at most 10% ethanol/90% gasoline, also known as E10 or gasohol.
Running E85 will ruin parts of the fuel system.
Look in the owner’s manual. Do not put in E85 unless the manual says it is OK, you will seriously ***** up the engine. A truck from 2000 is unlikely to be happy with E85.
