Jonathan asked: Suppose I stopped in another town and filled up my flex-
fuel car with
E85 ethanol. When I filled it up, the guage said empty. Now that I am home, I have about a half a tank and want to fill up my tank. Can I topoff my car with regular 87
octane gasoline?

You can use regular unleaded, with no problem! Flex fuel means you can use E-85, regular, or a mix of both!
Yes, hurry up and get the E85 out of there, it will clog injectors, fuel sending units and other fuel components.
I have a 97 interpid, I ran this E85 for 3 months and replaced all of my fuel system form that crap.
It is no good at all.
Yes, regular gosoline will mix with the E85. The E85 just means up to 85% alcohol the rest is gasoline. But for alcohol to mix with gasoline it has to be 200 proof, or it still has some water in it and it won’t mix.
yes you can mix it ,that’s the good part of it, i run a 50/50 mix in my truck,i cant run it 100% but by running it like that it seems to run a lot better, but it wont hurt it none at all,you wont even notice any difference in it at all, mine runs the same, maybe a tiny bit better, but yes you run it like this, that’s the one good thing about e-85 you can mix it,good luck with it,hope this helps.
It is called “flex-fuel” for a reason; You may use unleaded or E85 in any ratio.
